![]() ![]() ![]() Please help! I really don't want to have to return this scanner. I have tried adjusting settings, turning the scanner on and off, reopening the program, etc, and the same thing keeps happening.Īm I missing something very obvious? (This is often the case with me, as I have largely taught myself this stuff-I studied photography in school and learned a lot more analog skills than digital, which is nice, but not the most helpful.) Am I missing an important piece of software? Do I need to change something in my settings? I unfortunately cannot download this scanner's driver for my OS, but Vuescan claims I don't need one. Absolutely no response from my scanner, no preview or scan occurs, and no error message appears. the bottom of the page will say "Preview." or "Scan." for a brief moment and then go back to normal. It doesn't come up with an error message. However, when trying to actually preview/scan, it won't work. I set the scanner up, loaded with film, I set the settings on the program accordingly, and went for it. It immediately recognized my scanner upon opening the program. Even when running it in 32 bit mode as required, it recognized but refused to open with my scanner-although the site said it would work fine and I followed all instructions.ĭisappointed by this (because I love Silverfast and was hoping to use it), I downloaded Vuescan to see how it would work. I started with Silverfast because it is the scanning program I know the best. ![]() Everything on the internet (including many forums on here) stated that it is easily used with VueScan or Silverfast, so I figured, knowing both the programs well, it would be an alright investment. I bought it for scanning film specifically something I am very experienced with. I just bought a nearly-mint CanoScan 8800f with the knowledge that it is not supported by my Mac Sierra OS (10.12). As part of the Archive Suite and our lossless RAW data concept, SilverFast saves your slides, filmstrips, Kodachrome pictures and fotos, with all data that can be captured, as RAW data image files. ![]() I am not the most tech-savvy but I am doing my best, please help! SilverFast is available for Mac and Windows and is usable as a stand-alone software, as well as a Photoshop plug-in. ![]()
